Illinois Pheasants Forever Announces 2008 Habitat Accomplishments - Jan. 22, 2009
Illinois' 45 Pheasants Forever's (PF) chapters, 17 Quail Forever (QF) chapters and 10,000 dedicated PF/QF members completed 1,266 habitat projects in 2008, impacting 13,938 acres for the benefit of pheasants, quail, and other wildlife across the state.

Ohio Pheasants Forever Announces 2008 Habitat Accomplishments - Jan. 20, 2009
Waldo, Ohio - January 20 - For the third consecutive year, Ohio's Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) chapters have surpassed the $1 million mark in expenditures, spending $1,066,731 on the organization's wildlife habitat mission in 2008. Ohio PF/QF will celebrate these accomplishments at the Annual Ohio PF/QF State Meeting on Saturday, January 24th, at the All Occasions in Waldo.

Pheasants Forever Television Named Best Bird Hunting Show at Golden Moose Awards - Jan. 20, 2009
Saint Paul, Minn. - January 20 - Pheasants Forever Television, a production of Ron Schara Productions which airs on Outdoor Channel, was honored with the award for Best Bird Hunting Footage at Outdoor Channel's 9th Annual Golden Moose Awards this past Saturday evening at the Hard Rock Live/Café in Orlando. Pheasants Forever shared the award along with Benelli's American Birdhunter.

Obama's First Meal as President is a Pheasant Lunch - Jan. 20, 2009
Saint Paul, Minn. - January 20 - Pheasants Forever (PF) has learned the new President of the United States, Barack Obama, will dine on pheasant today at the inaugural luncheon. The President will be joined by new Vice President Joe Biden, both families, the Supreme Court, as well as the incoming Cabinet and Congress.

Pheasants Forever Launches Build a Wildlife Area Campaign in Ohio - Jan. 19, 2009
Waldo, Ohio - January 19 - Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) announce the launch of the first annual Ohio Build a Wildlife Area (BAWA) campaign. Through the campaign, PF/QF and its partners will raise funds to be used for the acquisition and management of wildlife areas in Ohio. All funds raised through the campaign will be tripled by matching grants.

Pheasants Forever Receives Largest Donation in 26-Year History - Jan. 19, 2009
Saint Paul, Minn. - January 19 - Wallace N. Weber, 65, of Russell County, Kansas ended 2008 with the single largest donation ever to Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) in the organization's 26-year history. Weber cites his desire to see his 1,700 acres stay together and managed as a wildlife habitat demonstration unit as critical factors in his decision to make Pheasants Forever the recipient of his gift.

DNR, PF to Acquire 140 Acres near MI's Gratiot-Saginaw State Game Area - Jan. 13, 2009
Gratiot County, Mich. - January 13 - The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will partner with Pheasants Forever to acquire 140 acres of land in Gratiot County that is adjacent to the Gratiot-Saginaw State Game Area. DNR Director Rebecca Humphries authorized the transaction at a recent Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing.

Iowa Pheasants Forever Announces 2008 Habitat Accomplishments - Jan. 12, 2009
Des Moines, Iowa - January 12 - Iowa's 103 Pheasants Forever's chapters and two Quail Forever chapters completed 4,530 habitat projects in 2008, impacting 35,843 acres for the benefit of pheasants, quail, and other wildlife around the state. PF/QF chapters also contributed to 43 land acquisitions totaling 4,081 acres. Iowa PF/QF will recognize the efforts of chapters and volunteers who made these achievements possible at its annual State Convention at the Sheraton Inn of West Des Moines January 16-18.

Wisconsin Pheasants Forever Announces 2008 Habitat Accomplishments - Jan. 12, 2009
Madison, Wis. - January 12 - Wisconsin Pheasants Forever announces its 2008 habitat accomplishments. During the course of the year, Wisconsin's 30 PF chapters and 7,300 dedicated PF members completed 551 wildlife habitat projects which are benefitting 3,143 acres for pheasants, deer, turkeys and other wildlife.

Pheasants Forever is urging all Illinois members to contact their state legislators and ask them to support legislation restoring funding to dedicated conservation accounts. The Illinois General Assembly must act this month to restore $9.25 million in restricted funds diverted to pay state bills, or the state risks losing $16 million in federal dollars for fish and wildlife management. Pheasants Forever and other conservation organizations are working with legislators to ensure legislation is introduced and passed, but we need your help!
